THE CATCHER’s MITT: Good-Bye Winter, Hello Spring Training!
Winter is over and spring is here! Well for most of us we are still buried under feet of snow but in the world of baseball its time to say good-bye to vacation and head on down to Arizona and Florida. Many teams have made roster changes at the end of last season (Umm..Hello the Blue Jays?!) and are ready to work on making this October last a little bit longer than the last one.
A lot has happened within the past year for many American League teams. The Jays having what some would call a perfect team and being the AL East favorites, The Yankees facing aging players and injuries, and the Red Sox still not recovering from the huge salary dump to the LA Dodgers last summer. As of Monday players started rolling into spring training with open minds and excitement. Every team is undefeated and every player is entering training camp with visions of the World Series title. Let the games begin!
