Gossip Corner: Nnamdi Asomugha Calls ‘Catfish’?!
It appears that athletes are less immune to fakers online for some reason…
Philadelphia Eagle Nnamdi Asomugha may be one of the NFL’s premier cornerbacks, but according to Terezowens.com, he may have also become another victim of catfishing. Except this story is a bit more Bieber than Manti T’eo.
Apparently, Asomugha has a phony (or possibly real?) posing as his – or one of his – baby mommas. He denies ever meeting this girl or even knowing she existed.
Ouch, Nnamdi – I hope you’re not faking this time, because that’s a big diss. On the other hand, we don’t think we’d want to be associated with this girl either. It gets better…
She is alleging to be the mother of a 3 year old son named Blake. In photographs, she attempts to cover herself behind a girl (her old friend) named Brittany Parker. Oh, the “baby momma” has a name – or a pseudonym at the very least; “Benita” is what she calls herself. However supposedly, she has scammed before. Her targets have extended to various NBA players girlfriends/ boyfriends, fabricating believably tragic tales on how she just discovered she had cancer and requires moola for her treatments. She has engaged in this fraud with the same group of girls since 2007.
Sick (and I don’t mean that in the good way). I don’t know what’s harder to stomach: the fact that this woman may be a mother influencing an innocent child or that she has friends (who are just like her). If this is all true, then this woman should be ashamed of herself – manipulating others’ kindness and generosity like this. Watch out, peeps! You never know who may be catfishin’ ya. Ugh, what has this world come to? Might as well live under a rock…
